Search Engine Information Resources
SEO Books
- SEO Book - Aaron Wall's search related blog, which sells the most current SEO ebook. I try to update my ebook at least once a month so that it is perpetually current. My guide teaches both SEO and pay per click marketing. I am the person who paid to create this software.
- Search Engine Marketing - Mike Grehan's ebook about search engines. It is more about how search engines & search algorithms work than it is about how to do SEO.
- Search Engine Marketing Kit - Dan Thies's book about search engine marketing. His book is more business oriented and more geared toward selling services than mine or Mike's. It also does not have as many creative link strategies and the like as my ebook does, but has much more information about running a business. I have limited business running experience, but make up for it by doing good SEO :)
- Free PPC Guide - as a sample of my ebook I also give away the PPC chapter free of charge. The free chapter has affiliate links in it. My regular ebook should not have any affiliate links.
Recommended SEO / SEM Services (these are not paid ads, but people in the SEO industry I know and trust)
- Stuntdubl - Todd Malicoat is one of the sharpest SEOs in the game. I hate to use that thinks outside of the box cliche, but, well, he does.
- WeBuildPages - Jim Boykin's full service search engine optimization firm.
- Smart Keywords - Frank Watson's full service web marketing firm. Focuses on pay per click management & organic SEO.
- WebGuerilla - I think Greg Boser is rather selective with what clients he is willing to take on, but I have yet to hear him speak without learning something from him.
- Dave Naylor - Perhaps the best SEO in the world. Sometimes I think he knows more than most search engineers do.
- Caveman - SEO expert with a long history in tradional marketing. Highly recommended for SEO + holistic marketing campaigns.
- Text Link Ads - Patrick Gavin's full service text link brokering website.
Link Building Information & Services:
SEO Conferences
- SEO Roadshow - Free once a year non-commercial bar meetings. They are free and uber cool...need an invite to go though. NFFC is cool.
- Search Engine Strategies - Geared more toward the marketing and advertertising professions, these are usually ran by Danny Sullivan of SearchEngineWatch. Host about 8 to 10 of them a year. about $1,700 for a 4 day conference (some local SES conferences are shorter and cheaper - also if you register early you save $100, and if you hunt you can usually find a coupon to save a couple dollars on the entry cost).
- WebmasterWorld Conference - Geared more toward the independant webmaster, these are hosted by Brett Tabke of WebmasterWorld. Occurs about 2-3 times a year. about $500 to $1,000 for a 3 day conference (price depends on when you buy, which conference you attend, etc.).
- ThreadWatch Conference - Similar to SEO Roadshow, with much overlap in who attends.

Other SEO Hub Sites:
- These sites list a variety of search engine optimization and search engine marketing experts. Be careful not to trust them exclusively on the SEO service provider quality front...companies that were once great can run into problems with quality when scaling, and it is hart to rate another firms work and how you would align with it (since there are many factors like aggressiveness, goals, timeliness, integration with traditional marketing, viral marketing, etc)
- SEO Pros - reviewed best practices site.
- SEO Consultants - reviewed best practices sites.
- SMA - regional search marketing associations. UK, North America, & Europe
- SEMPO - a search engine marketing promotion organization. I sorta believe this was created exclusively to promote it's founders, but there you have it...
Microsaw.com - A Los Angeles Search Marketing Agency (c) 2006.
